With memorial day weekend over and all the festival goers now back to their daily lives, Mysteryland USA was a success and, being able to attend Mysteryland’s Inaugural event in the US was none the less magical and unforgettable. With this being the first ever festival held on these historic Woodstock grounds since…well Woodstock, we knew that something like this would make history itself. Like Woodstock 69′ it brought people from all over together as one, and changed the game of music and festivals forever.
We expected day 1 to be miserable with all the rain and mud in the fields but that did not stop anyone from partying their hearts out. We found that nothing was going to stop these festival goers from having a good time. Overall we want to give ID&T an A+++ for bringing Mysteryland to the USA and doing it flawlessly. There were little to no injuries during the weekend festivities that we heard of and their new cashless system was fantastic. Lines for food and beverages moved faster than we had anticipated and the new RFID tags proved worthy of festival use.

A lot of people complain about security during these festivals but from the people we talked to, nothing but good things were said about security and how they handled things. The only grudge we heard from festival goers was getting in to the actual grounds. The cashless system was supposed to double as entry into the grounds. With no distinct lines to get through the scanners, we were told it was a “cluster fuck”. Other than that, everyone seemed very happy.
The only grudge that WE have for ID&T is the actual festival grounds itself. The location of the main stage was set down at the bottom of 2 hills with flat ground in between both hills. If you even wanted to be able to catch a glimpse of the artists, you had to be on the first hill right in front of the main stage. If you were on flat ground, you were shit out of luck. Hopefully next year they will build the stage 10ft higher so the artists can be seen from all angles. And if you bought VIP tickets, yes you had your own area to hang out and get crazy, but even VIP couldn’t see the artists.

Overall, we had a great time and hope to be back next year for a repeat of this weekend. Hopefully the small things will get fixed. A source tells us that ID&T has signed a 6 year contract with the Bethel Woods grounds to keep the festival there. We have not heard anything official but we hope this is true as the 69′ Woodstock grounds are a great place to hold festivals.
